Join us for an inspiring evening with Jared Rosenbaum, a botanist, native plant grower, and Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner.
Jared is a founding partner at Wild Ridge Plants LLC, where he grows local ecotype native plants using sustainable practices and conducts botanical surveys. He is also the author of Wild Plant Culture: A Guide to Restoring Native Edible and Medicinal Plant Communities and the beloved children’s book The Puddle Garden.
In this presentation:
-Jared will explore how native edible and medicinal plants can be thoughtfully integrated into gardens, parks, farms, and restoration projects to create habitats that support both ecological diversity and human use.
-How to apply habitat-based approaches to home gardens and community spaces
-How to reimagine foodways to celebrate and sustain native biodiversity
Jared’s lively, fun, and engaging teaching style makes complex ecological ideas accessible and exciting. He invites us to consider a vital question: How can we honor native ecosystems and Indigenous lifeways while restoring landscapes that nourish humans, wildlife, and plants together?
Whether you're a gardener, forager, native plant enthusiast, or simply curious about deepening your connection to the land, this is a presentation you won’t want to miss.
